WHAT WE
BELIEVE
The Bible is the
written word of
God, without error and of divine
and infallible authority.
The One, True
God is personal. He created and sustains the
universe and is intimately involved with and concerned for His
creation. He exists eternally in three distinct Persons: the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; each of whom possesses all the
divine attributes.
Jesus Christ
is the eternal Son of God, who entered the world and
history and became man, and who lived and died and bodily
rose
again as payment for the
sins of those who trust in Him. His sacrifice is the only way for human
beings, all of
whom have rebelled against God, to be redeemed.
God's Gift
of salvation is freely offered to all people who
receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Jesus Christ
is coming again as the final consummation of God's
plan of salvation. He will judge the living and the dead.
The Solas of the Protestant Reformation
Sola Scriptura The Bible
is the sole written divine revelation, our only infallible
rule for faith and life, and alone can bind the conscience of believers
absolutely (Matt. 4:4; 2 Tim. 3:16).
Sola Fide Justification
is by faith alone. By God’s free grace, the righteousness of Jesus Christ is
imputed to us by faith and is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which
our sins are pardoned (Rom. 5:1; Gal 2:16).
Solus Christus Jesus
Christ is the only mediator through Whose work we are redeemed (John 14:6; John
3:16).
Sola Gratia
Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s
grace for us (Rom. 2:4; Eph. 2:8-10).
Soli Deo Gloria Salvation
is of God and has been accomplished by God, therefore to God alone belongs the
glory (Isa. 42:8; Col. 3:17).
